Road & Track:

Oh visibility might be very poor but I really want this.

The GM Authority render is so droopy.

That R&T render is terrible; they just pasted on the rear end of the actual CTS Wagon.
But that gmauthority render. Yes. 100% want.

I prefer to say swoop, and I think I prefer it from an aesthetic standpoint. No doubt it would be smaller though.

Yeah it’s not vey good, but you get the idea and it’s a wonderful idea.
I also prefer the GM Authority one.

Sure, OEM’s need to offer an Avant / Wagon for street credibility in Europe, but the Americans just don’t purchase enough of them to merit the investment. Sad reality for the passionate few.

I can’t look at any large Cadillac without thinking of a hearse.

What?
I have a 2010. They more than justified these on their P&L.
It’s not a volume seller by any means, but they still profit.

About 7K were produced over 5 models years. Niche vehicles are fine, but better to dedicate same resources / investment to a higher volume models. The logic is nothing new, just sad when cars like this get discontinued.

A hearse for carrying German sports cars, after your murder them.

It’s too droopy. What is this, a Mercedes?

“These renders for a new CTS-V wagon have me experiencing unprecedented levels of want.”
Indeed!
![]() 02/08/2017 at 17:16 |

That’s what we said about the 2018 Mustang when it first came out.
![]() 02/08/2017 at 17:28 |

If they gave it a big square roof people would call it a hearse.
![]() 02/09/2017 at 08:49 |

Not the 6 people alive who would buy one anyway.

CTS V wagon is what we want. But XT5 V crossover is what we’re gonna get.

The Escala is supposedly the future face of Cadillac. Not feeling the rear on this one though.
